How long are surf lessons? +
Our standard surf lessons are 2 hours long, giving you plenty of time to learn the basics, practice in the water, and build confidence. We also offer extended sessions and multi-day packages for those wanting more intensive training.
What's included in a surf lesson? +
Every lesson includes professional ISA-qualified instruction, wetsuit, surfboard, and safety briefing. We provide all equipment - you just need to bring yourself and a sense of adventure!
Do I need any experience to start? +
Absolutely not! Our surf lessons are perfect for complete beginners. We've taught over 25,000 people to surf since 1999, including many who had never seen the ocean before. Our experienced instructors will have you standing on a wave in your first lesson.
What's the maximum group size? +
We keep our groups small with a maximum of 8 students per instructor. This ensures you get plenty of personal attention and progress faster than larger surf schools.
When do you operate surf lessons? +
We run surf lessons from April to November, taking advantage of Pembrokeshire's best surf conditions. During peak summer months, we offer multiple sessions daily across our 6 beach locations.
Which beach is best for beginners? +
All our beaches are suitable for beginners, but Freshwater West and Newgale are particularly popular for first-time surfers due to their consistent, gentle waves and sandy bottoms. Our instructors will choose the best location based on daily conditions.
What should I bring to my surf lesson? +
Just bring swimwear, a towel, and sun cream. We provide everything else including wetsuits (all sizes available), surfboards, and safety equipment. Don't forget your sense of adventure!
How much do surf lessons cost? +
Surf lessons start from £35 per person. We offer various packages including family deals (save 15%), Weekend Warrior packages, and multi-day courses. Check our booking system for current pricing and availability.
Are your instructors qualified? +
Yes! All our instructors are ISA (International Surfing Association) qualified and many hold additional certifications in lifeguarding and water safety. We've been training RNLI lifeguards for 18 years and have qualified over 4,500 lifeguards.
What's your safety record? +
We're proud to have maintained a 100% safety record with zero emergency incidents in the past year. Our instructors are trained in water safety, first aid, and emergency procedures. We carry £10M public liability insurance for complete peace of mind.
