North Shore Surf Camp combines the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional surf lodge with the comfort of a landscaped garden, sheltered swimming pool, bright communal spaces and several room categories.
The lodge is based in Lajares, a laid-back village surrounded by lava fields and extinct volcanoes. Cafés, restaurants, surf shops and small boutiques are within walking distance, while the reef breaks, beaches and sheltered bays of Fuerteventura’s north coast can be reached by road.
Optional surf courses are suitable for beginners through to advanced surfers. The local team chooses the surf location according to conditions and ability, helping each group find the safest and most suitable waves available that day.

Optional coaching is available from beginner to advanced level, with transport from the lodge to the surf location selected for each day.

Fuerteventura’s northern coastline has a wide variety of reefs, beach breaks and sheltered bays. The surf team monitors the conditions and chooses a suitable location for the ability of each group.
Surf-course days include collection from the lodge, transport to the selected spot, surfboard and wetsuit use during the lesson and coaching from qualified instructors.
Four-Day Surf Course
Four sessions lasting approximately 1.5 to two hours, plus surf
theory, equipment and transport.
Five-Day Surf Course
Five coached water sessions for guests wanting more repetition,
progression and time in the ocean.
Maximum Eight Per Instructor
Coaching groups are kept to a stated maximum of eight surf
students per instructor.

Where is the surf camp located?
The lodge is in Lajares in northern Fuerteventura. It is close to
the North Shore surf spots and within driving distance of El
Cotillo and Corralejo.
Is the surf camp directly on the beach?
No. The lodge is inland in Lajares. Surf-course guests are
collected and transported to the most suitable surf spot for the
conditions and group ability.
Do I need previous surfing experience?
No. Optional surf courses cater for complete beginners through to
advanced surfers. The surf team selects suitable locations and
coaching groups according to experience.
Are surf lessons included in the accommodation price?
Surf coaching is normally an optional extra. You can choose a
four-day or five-day course, and Outer Reef will add the suitable
option to your quotation.
What does the surf course include?
Booked courses include coached surf sessions, surf theory,
surfboard and wetsuit use during the sessions and transport between
the lodge and selected surf spot.
How large are the surf groups?
The supplier states a maximum of eight surf students per surf
instructor.
What room choices are available?
Room options can include double rooms with private bathroom,
standard double or twin rooms, single rooms, triple rooms and
family accommodation for three or four guests.
Are meals included?
Daily breakfast and five evening meals are included in the core
weekly package. One evening meal normally includes a barbecue.
Are vegetarian and vegan meals available?
Vegetarian and vegan options are included within the catering.
Please provide any dietary requirements before booking so they can

Is yoga included?
Three yoga sessions per week are included. They usually take place
in the morning or evening beside the pool so they do not clash with
the surf programme.
Is the volcano trek included?
One guided trekking tour is included each week. The exact route and
timing depend on the lodge programme and local conditions.
Do we need to hire a car?
A car is not essential for booked surf-course transport, but hiring
one gives you more freedom to explore beaches, villages and the
island outside the organised programme.
Are flights included?
Flights are not included. Guests arrange their own travel to
Fuerteventura. Outer Reef can provide the lodge and arrival
information required for planning your journey.
