We are delighted to have been granted funding by Pembrokeshire County Council as part of the Winter of Wellbeing programme to allow 216 young people aged 12-16 to participate in these activities and we look forward to running the sessions in January and February 2022!

PEMBROKESHIRE watersports provider Outer Reef has come on board to help Tenby’s Boxing Day Swim celebrate its 50th anniversary. Outer Reef is the official watersports provider operating from Tenby’s North Beach, where the legendary swim takes place.

So this new partnership between the long-established company and swim organisers, Tenby Sea Swimming Association, is a fitting one...

Earlier this year, Outer Reef was able to secure funding from the Welsh Government and Pembrokeshire County Council to take 360 local Welsh children surfing and paddle boarding weekly during the School Summer Holidays!

New for 2021, our Multi Activity Clubs aimed to provide children and teenagers in Tenby and Saundersfoot with a wide range of different water activities. From paddle boarding, giant SUP, kayaking, to rock pooling, board rescues and beach team building, those involved loved getting salty and sandy, making the most of what our coastal environment has to offer. We are absolutely delighted that Outer Reef is now providing 21 jobs in Pembrokeshire. Whilst a few of these are seasonal (as instructors head for some winter waves!), most of these are year round, contracted positions.

“My favourite part about coming to the club is hanging out and meeting new friends and learning new skills in the water with experienced and very friendly instructors.

I've learnt a lot from coming to the club this year like how to surf, paddleboard and how to do cool tricks whilst surfing like 180°s which are my favourites”.

Our instructors, experienced in providing surfing activities for children and young adults with additional learning needs, were delighted to meet students from Portfield School at Freshwater West this summer.
