Departing from Sibolga we’ll check the charts and make the call on where to head first. arriving in the islands the following morning for the first of 10 full surfing days in the outer islands of Sumatra.
There’s a variety of waves on offer from fun swell magnets and lined up perfect reef set ups to grinding freight train barrels. Notable mentions include Bawa, Bay of Plenty and of course Treasure Island along with many other gems we don’t want to list here.
The charter is open to all levels but would suit an intermediate – advanced surfer best. We have some flexibility with destinations so hit us up to discuss options and lets see what we can put together for you.
APR – MAY 2023 MENTAWAI

In early or late season we like to bring Jiwa down to the Mentawais. It’s one of our favourite times of year here as the crowds are thinner, but the waves can still be epic.
Arriving in Padang, you’ll be met by our ground-handling staff and brought to Bungus Port where we’ll welcome you aboard Jiwa. After running through a quick induction to the vessel, we’ll look at the swell and weather forecast and discuss the best wave options.
Its an overnight crossing to the Mentawai islands and we’ll aim to be there in the morning to start the first of 10 surfing days. The Mentawais is such a wave dense region that its usually possible to find good quality waves regardless of the conditions and we’ll do our best to get you on the most suitable waves on any given day.
On the evening of the last surfing day, we have our final sunset beer, say goodbye to the islands and make our way back to port. The following morning you’ll leave the boat and will be driven to the airport for your return journey home.

This prime season charter maximises your changes of scoring epic conditions. We have the option of either a North sumatra trip to the Banyaks and Nias , otherwise we can drop south to the Telos and Mentawais.
On arrival at the airport you’ll be welcomed by our staff and driven to the port to meet Euge and the crew and board the Jiwa, your vessel for the trip.
Once aboard Jiwa we’ll run through a quick induction to the vessel, look at the charts and weather forecast and discuss the best wave options. We’ll depart that evening for the islands and aim to arrive at the break in the next morning for the first of 10-days of surfing.
What you can expect is epic prime season waves , we’ve got a lot of experience in this region and as well as hitting up the famous waves the areas is known for , we’ll also do our best to get you onto a couple of little secrets we sniffed out ourselves. DEPOSIT & PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
- A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total cost is required within 7 days of making the booking. The depoit will be accepted as part payment of the total cost.
- Final Payment is due 60 days prior to departure.
